Let me introduce myself...

Dear Mr. Monkey

I have receibed your invitation to participate in the Icelandic expedition next summer, I am very honoured with it, and I cannot say no to such an exciting trip.

Unfortunately, I have not met our voyage colleagues yet, so I expect them to write me a letter. I will be accompanied by my fiancée, Frau Winter.

I am not very good with planning, but my skills include sailing and bear hunting, additionally I speak several german-slavic languages and dialects. As you probably know, I have taken part in several expeditions to the Himalayas and the Andes.

About the planning, I would propose to deal the following points:

A) The most advantageous way to arrive there and return, for instance, seaplane or ship.

B) How to travel inland. Maybe a dog-sleigh or a carriage?

C) Which places to visit, what is to see in each place and what cannot we help tasting before we leave.

D) Activities to do: fishing on ice, bathing on geisers, walk the summit of a volcano as well as things we need to pack in our cases: daguerreotype, flask, compass, walking stick.

E) Look for places to sleep over. Necessity of a tent?

F) An estimated budget of the trip, to start raising funds.

That was my proposal of topics to be addressed in the next few months.

Hoping to hear from you and your colleagues soon
Very truly yours,
Gog

We Came In!

Hallo!

That's how they say Hello in Icelandic. It's not in fact with an "o", there's a small accent over o, but I do not have the Icelandic keyboard right now! If I want to install it, it would become like 4 languages on my keyboard, and it is confusing with 3 already. Let's see how it will go anyways. :)

Anyhow, we are already four who are willing to travel to Iceland. We are going to discover Iceland and if possible take a flight to Grönland! Yeah! Two of the rarest and most exceptional places on the planet.

This is our place to share links, pictures, information, ideas and anything about Iceland and Grönland. The tile of the blog is dedicated to the Icelandic volcano that a lot of people started to love in the last summer! As we know more about Grönland as well, we may add some tribute to some Grönlandic place in the title, too.

So let's rock guys!

/M.
